University Teaching Areas

  • I have taught on Bachelor of Education (BEd), Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and Master of Education (MEd) programmes, whose students are mostly prospective or serving teachers.
  • My teaching areas have most recently been in English linguistics: phonology, morphology, lexis, syntax and discourse and their pedagogical implications for Cantonese-speaking Hong Kong learners of English.
  • Earlier I taught methodology of English language teaching.
  • At the doctoral level (PhD, EdD) I have given seminars on thesis writing, derived from my own research in the text analysis of PhD theses across faculties. I have also supervised or co-supervised 8 PhD or EdD students.
